The Committees of the Hellenic Indian Chamber of Commerce help formulate the strategic sectoral roles of the Chamber.

Sectoral experts— members of each Committee—organize events such as conferences, exhibitions, trade missions, seminars, and media briefs, as well as develop position papers, in order to advance the interests of member companies in a sector and/or to assist in policy formation, legislation, and government action.

Committees are the core interface of the Chamber vis-à-vis the government and societal stakeholders and play an essential role in the Chamber’s overall development.

Committee ” Agricultural Economy and Agro-Technology ”

The Committee Agricultural Economy and Agro-Technology” deals, among other things, with the current framework of agricultural policy and constitutes for its members a platform for discussion and alternative experiences regarding the markets and challenges of this market as well as the search for solutions to issues in the sector.

The Committee supports the exchange of know-how between corporations in the agricultural sector, on issues such as strengthening extroversion and exports, standardization – branding, certification, sustainable development and new alternative forms of cultivation.

Additionally, the Committee is engaged in identifying and exploring possibilities and opportunities for further strengthening the agricultural sector, as well as, promoting collaborations and proposed solutions for improving competitiveness.

The aim of the Committee is to promote the export activity of Greek agricultural corporations and cooperatives as well as to strengthen cooperation between Greece and India.

The Committee aims to help formulate a national strategy and facilitate reforms across the entire value chain of the agricultural business, to enhance competitiveness and to develop a framework for the penetration of local Greek products into the Indian market.

 

Committee ” Economy & Investments “

The aim of the Economy & Investment Committee is to assist in the promotion of investments in Greece from Indian investors, as well as assisting Indian investors in supporting them in the implementation of their projects. 

Committee ” Real Estate and Development ”

The Committee seeks to inform members about regulatory challenges, upcoming reforms and helps shape them in a manner that favors the interests of the real estate industry and Greek economic development. 

It works as an advocate for the members of the Chamber in the field of general policies in the context of an dynamically changing business, political, legal and regulatory environment. It also acts as a facilitator in the Greek real estate market for Indian investors through the promotion of specific topics, providing advice on the business and regulatory landscape.

The Committee will serve as an information exchange hub for members regarding market trends and potential threats, as well as an education space through the organization of real estate-themed events and delegations to conferences, exhibitions, and trade and commercial missions.

Committee ” Tourism & Culture

Tourism and culture are two important sectors that have added value for the economy. 

The aim of the Committee is to formulate positions and proposals and to organize targeted actions that will facilitate the development of collaborations between the respective sectors from Greece and India.

The committee aims to contribute both to the strengthening of bilateral tourism relations and to the vision and strategy for the broader upgrading of the Greek tourist and cultural product.

Committee ” Digital -IT Transformation and start-ups “

The Committee aims to inform members about the new challenges in the field of digital transformation and to raise awareness of the role of new technologies in their core and supporting functions, in combination with the promotion and communication of new entrepreneurial models presented in the economy.

 The Committee acts as a representative of start-ups within the Chamber and enables discussion and debate on current challenges in the sector. 

Its mission is to create a network where companies collaborate, share best practices and expertise and discuss legal and financial issues faced by start-ups in order to provide advice and low-cost solutions to these issues.

Committee ” Health ”

The Committee seeks to contribute to the promotion of ideas for informing members about the existing possibilities in the field of medicine, medical equipment and health services. 

To strengthen this purpose, informative meetings are planned and held with experts and representatives of the sector.

 Key target of the Health Committee is the promotion of health as a business opportunity for both Greece and India.

Committee ” Employment and Education “

The Committee seeks to contribute to tackling new unemployment by achieving the connection of young people with the labor market. 

Among certain actions, seminars, workshops and events will be organized focusing on youth entrepreneurship and the promotion of innovative ideas and actions. 

Specific attention will be given to the issues of reskilling/upskilling with an emphasis on technology and digitalization issues.

 The Committee aims to create a hub for new ideas on the huge challenges in employment and the labour market, which can promote a new approach, dynamic partnerships and practical solutions that will strengthen efforts to create new jobs.

 In addition, it aims to promote Innovation and the adoption of Best Practices through knowledge transfer from abroad.

The Committee aims to exchange views among industry executives, highlight opportunities and concerns as expressed by the logistics markets and present best practices in Greece and India, as well as new technologies aimed at the evolution of the supply chain sector.
