A New Era of Bilateral Cooperation

The visit of India's Prime Minister to Athens in August 2023 marked a turning point in Greece-India relations, opening new avenues for economic cooperation and cultural exchange.

Subsequently, the Greek Prime Minister's visit to New Delhi in February 2024 further cemented the strategic partnership, with both nations committing to enhanced collaboration in trade, technology, defense, and the blue economy.

The Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce & Economy plays a pivotal role in translating these diplomatic achievements into tangible business opportunities for companies in both countries.

“India Looks to Crete”: Successful Completion of the Greek–Indian FAM Trip Focusing on Experiential and Wedding Tourism

From 15 to 20 June 2026, the FAM Trip “India Looks to Crete” brought together ten leading Indian tour operators and tourism professionals to explore Crete’s tourism potential. Organised by the Region of Crete, the Hellenic–Indian Chamber of Commerce & Economy and the island’s four Hotel Associations, the initiative promoted Crete as a unified year-round destination, with particular emphasis on experiential, cultural and wedding tourism. The investment of Indian-backed GMR in the new Heraklion International Airport at Kasteli further strengthens prospects for direct air connectivity and increased high-value tourism from India.

Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hellenic–Indian Chamber and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 9 March 2026, the Hellenic–Indian Chamber of Commerce and Economy and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to strengthen trade, investment and business relations between Greece and India. The partnership will focus on key sectors, including shipping, logistics, energy, technology, tourism and agrifood, while promoting Piraeus as a strategic gateway connecting India with Europe.
