The MBA International program of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening business, academic, and research ties between Greece and India.

The signing ceremony took place at the premises of AUEB and was attended by the University Rector, Professor Vasilis Vasdekis; the Director of MBA International, Professor Klas Eric Soderquist; the Strategy, Development, and Internationalization Advisor and Adjunct Professor of the program, Dr. Emmanouil Alexandrakis; the President of the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Angelos Tsavdaris; Mr. Dimitrios Melas, Secretary General of the Chamber; and Ms. Georgia Korakaki, Special Advisor to the President on Modernization and Efficient Operations of the Chamber.

The five-year MoU aims to connect the academic community with the labor market, support business missions and outward-looking activities, and promote collaboration in research projects and events focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Through the MoU, both parties seek to achieve shared goals through mutually beneficial initiatives and other academic activities that facilitate interaction between them.

Specifically, the MoU includes the following actions:

  • Dissemination of information and promotion of participation by MBA International students and alumni, collaborating with companies/organizations of interest to the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

  • Academic participation of AUEB in events organized by the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or by its members/partners.

  • Organization of events related to business activities between India and Greece, as well as similar initiatives supporting cooperation and business missions.

  • Invitation of the Chamber and its affiliated companies’ staff to give lectures and participate in events and conferences organized by MBA International at AUEB, such as Career Day.

  • Development of training programs and internships for MBA International students in member/affiliated companies of the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a focus on digital transformation and operational efficiency, ensuring the application of cutting-edge research and strategic business knowledge tailored to their needs.

  • Implementation of joint professional and business programs, research projects, conferences, and other exchanges of business interest upon mutual agreement.

Commenting on the MoU signing, AUEB Rector Professor Vasilis Vasdekis stated:
“A key pillar for the Athens University of Economics and Business is outward-looking engagement, achieved through establishing relationships and partnerships with distinguished institutions and chambers. Through these collaborations, the University consolidates new connections with the labor market and builds trust with organizations that contribute to creating new opportunities for the University community.”

The President of the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Angelos Tsavdaris, said:
“The collaboration between the Hellenic-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and MBA International at AUEB represents a strategic initiative that strengthens the connection between the educational community and the business world, particularly the Indian market. Through this cooperation, knowledge mobility, innovation, and entrepreneurship are promoted between Greece and India, aiming to develop relationships in areas such as education, investment, and startups. The Chamber actively supports the new generation, encouraging young people to gain international experience and skills to become global citizens.”
